Have you ever felt that we are all playing a game here on planet earth and everyone seems to know how to play, except you?  Your moves do or don’t have the desired effect, but there’s no pattern or logic you can make out and the whole thing’s just not working for you?

Been there, done that, got mighty upset at life and decided to get to the bottom of it all and have come up with some answers. I haven’t got it all figured out yet, but I’d like to share with you what has made it into my instruction manual so far – tried and tested. I write of my own experience influenced by various spiritual belief-systems and lifemasters past and present, both those famous, but also those who quietly went about the business of living their lives in a way that stood out for me.

  • As within so without: Life does not throw us curve balls out of the blue. We are not the innocent, hard done-by victims that we like to see ourselves as. Life doesn’t happen to us, it responds to us. We see out there what we feel in here.
  • Ego, our survival mechanism, has an overinflated opinion of its usefulness and is usually of no help at all, it just puts a spanner in the works.
  • Everything out there and within ourselves hinges on the one thing that we can learn to have complete control over, our mind. We can use it or choose to ignore it. It is not who we are and we do not need to let it run our lives.
  • We are not a finished product, we are a process, always incomplete, always becoming. If we are purely outcome-driven, we are going to spend a lot of time feeling frustrated. We will be happier when we shift our focus to ‘being well’ on the journey and enjoying the ride.

The only thing everything hinges on is the only thing we can learn to have complete control over – MIND.

When we manage to escape the clutches of body and mind, we find at our core something that feels much more like who we are. Life flows effortlessly when we operate from it.

I call it Self – and finding our way Back to Self  is what this blog is all about.
