Do you realize you create your reality all the time – whether you’re thinking about it or not? You have no choice in this. Your only choice is whether to let it happen unconsciously or do it consciously – to practice conscious creation.

Do you want to be the cause of your experience or the effect of it – at it’s mercy? The thing is, if you don’t take charge of creating your reality, your uncontrolled thoughts and the consciousness of the collective will create it for you. If you’re not ‘at home’, others will ‘move in’, taking advantage of your ‘Selflessness’. They’ll choose your reality for you and chances are, it’ll be far from the reality that you had hoped for.

In the uncertain times we currently find ourselves in, for instance, there is a tangible collective consciousness of doubt and fear. If you were to launch a new business right now, you’d be up against your own fears and uncertainties as well as this collective one. You’d have to guard your thoughts closely not to be dragged down by this all-pervasive energy.

Everything changes when you stake you claim on life and tell it what you want from it. In vibrational terms: when you emit your own frequency instead of absorbing the frequencies of others. Ok, great, so how do we do that?

First, you have to step out of your current, unconsciously created reality. The way you do this though, is not by banishing your current challenges into the recesses of your mind and hoping they’ll go away. Trust me, I tried that for 50 years with all the mental chutzpah I could muster, and they refused to co-operate. The trick is to accept all that currently is, fully, to embrace it ‘as if you had chosen it’ as Eckart Tolle would say because – although unconsciously, you actually have.

Choose again

Your life is the result of your thoughts about it. To change it, simply notice what you’ve been choosing and choose again. Choose your reality from moment to moment. By choosing new thoughts, the life that you don’t want anymore gradually dissolves and the life that you do want gains substance. Keep choosing that new life with whatever you have at hand.

Life is what it is…life is what you make of it …life is what you choose it to be …life is what you create.

All conditions are temporary and which way a thing changes, depends on you. Everything is resettable.

‘Bad’ things that happen to you are either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle in your way. You choose. All exists as a tool of your own creation. Neale Donald Walsh tells us that events are opportunities for us to decide and be who we are.

Mind is your greatest asset or your worst enemy in this. Whatever you believe about yourself is what you will manifest. Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, either way you’re right. This is because external energy follows internal energy, which in turn follows thought.

Whatever you focus on, you make real: where attention goes, energy flows. Whatever you pay attention to, blossoms and whatever you withdraw your attention from, withers away. You are doing this all. You can change it, make it stop and start it up again by turning away from it or towards it.

Choosing new thoughts is conscious creation. Think about it: nothing matters for you until you make it matter by focussing on it. In the same way, nothing has meaning except the meaning you find in it.

I woke up one morning with the image of a blank canvas signed Gaby Leone. I realized that I choose what I see, and I create my own reality down to the smallest detail.

The world works according to your belief of how it does. You make real what you believe is real. Your beliefs are your operating system and they become a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you believe people in general cannot be trusted, you will turn a stranger away. If you believe that people are inherently good, that same stranger is a potential friend.

Your mind is like a computer

You can’t instruct a computer not to retrieve a file – it ignores ‘not’. Your mind is exactly the same. Since your brain does not hear no, don’t think about what you don’t want, are afraid of or want to avoid – don’t to be anti-, be pro-instead. When you push against the unwanted, you’re actually adding power to it. For instance, in the ‘war against poverty’, the mind only registers ‘poverty’ and you actually increase poverty this way instead of diminishing it. What you resist, persists, because you put it there.

Here’s another computer analogy. You’ve probably noticed that, unfortunately, computers don’t do what you want them to do, they do what you tell them to do. Likewise, your mind does not do what you want it to do. It operates on autopilot, repeating habitual patterns until you take control and tell it what to do. Change your operating system by first becoming aware of it. Then update and upgrade it and make this a habit as new information about reality and what it means to be human comes to light. Update and upgrade existing programs with a newer versions or programs. Clean out your hard drive of obsolete material – old thinking patterns that no longer serve you. Guard against viruses – unhealthy thoughts and emotions. These scramble your computer data – skewing your perception of reality.

There is a legend of an old Cherokee teaching his grandson about life: “A fight is going on inside us all,” he said. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and Ego. The other is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee replied, “The one you feed.”
